A Christmas Story – KROS

12/11/08

Give yourself an added Christmas Treat by going to the Clinton Area

Showboat Theater presentation of  A Christmas Story” playing at

The Mullany Theater at Ashford University.

Take a trip back in time with Ralph Parker as he remembers one very

signifigant  Christmas in his youth. The adult Ralph is played by

Jason Sharp. His younger Ralphie is by Michael Kremer.

The set is very well utilized with the upstairs bedroom raised and

The living room, dining and kitchen down and the doorway to the

Basement (where the old furnace is).

This production of  A Christmas Story” is directed by C.A.S.T.’S

artistic director Patrick Stinson. Patrick has done a great job of

putting together this very talented cast.

Ralphie wants just one thing for Christmas and uses everything he can

imagine to get the message to his parents, he wants a “Red Ryder” air

riffle. He goes from real life to his imagination and the cast of his class-

mates and friends help him with this. The youthful cast members are:

Aedan Marlowe, Noah Strausser, Jacob Smith, Skyler Pennock,

Helena Fisher and Ethan Sharp. They are always in character and  get

their message across.

Ralphie’s mother is by Karen Stephan and his dad is by Rob Engelson.

You will enjoy the trip back to Hohman, Indiana in 1938. What a good

Year. The tempermental furnace, the contest entries, the grand prize,

school setting (with Ellen Miller as their teacher), what they have for

dinner, will they ever get turkey for Christmas, get the tree home and

many other great scenes.

This presentation will bring the older audience great  memories and will

let the younger ones learn a little of what it was like in their grandparents

Christmases. This is for the whole family. There were many younger

ones in the audience and they were kept interested through the show.

“A Christmas Story” will be presented Dec. 12, 13, & 17-20 at 7 P.M.

and Dec. 14 & 21 at 3:00 P.M. in Mullany Theater at Ashford University,

Clinton.
